About

A small nonprofit, moving fast.

StayWithUkraine Inc. was founded in 2022 to do one thing well: move the medical supplies Ukrainians ask for, directly into their hands.

I — Our story

We started the way many small nonprofits start — a few people who could not look away. Friends and family in Ukraine were asking for tourniquets, hemostatic gauze, chest seals, and clean water. Hospitals were rationing. Civilians were learning trauma care on the fly. The supplies existed in the US; the bridge to Ukraine did not.

StayWithUkraine Inc. is that bridge. We are a registered United States 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 93-1615777), governed by a small volunteer board. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by US law.

Every dollar we raise is converted into supplies — sourced from US medical-grade vendors, packed against verified requests, and hand-carried into Ukraine by trusted couriers. We do not run a warehouse abroad. We do not pass shipments through commercial freight networks where boxes go missing. We move what we raise, and we tell donors exactly what arrived.

II — How we operate
  1. Step 01

    Listen

Requests come from medics, units and civilians on the ground — not from us guessing.

  2. Step 02

    Source

We buy medical-grade gear from US suppliers, in quantity, at the best rate we can negotiate.

  3. Step 03

    Carry

Volunteer travelers hand-carry supplies into Ukraine in personal luggage and cargo.

  4. Step 04

    Hand off

Supplies are transferred directly to receiving parties on arrival. We document every drop.

What we believe

That the difference between a survivable wound and a fatal one is often a piece of gear that costs less than a dinner out. That the people closest to the need know best what to ask for. That small, fast, honest organizations can still matter.

III — Leadership

Medical Director

Dr. Yevgeniy Maksimenko,
MD, MPH, NRP, FAWM, DiMM.

Dr. Maksimenko is a board-certified emergency and disaster medicine physician with deep field experience in prehospital and austere care. As Medical Director he sets our clinical priorities — what we source, how we train, and which requests get triaged first.

His focus on prehospital medicine maps directly to what Ukrainian medics need most: care that works in the field, in the cold, and under fire.
